This anime tells a beautiful love story between a high school girl and a famous pianist, played by the same seiyū who voiced Sailor Moon. The story of how two traumatized people get together and fall in love is fascinating, and the animation is beautiful. Music is a fundamental theme in this show. The main character, Kousei Arima, used to be a fantastic piano player when he was young, but he stopped playing altogether after his mother’s death. After many years away from the piano, Kaori Miyazono enters his life and convinces him to start playing again. Kaori Miyazono is a free-spirited violinist who pushes Kousei to perform again. She plays with so much emotion that it’s hard not to get caught up in her music. This thrilling anime will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end!
Shonen – Dragon Ball Z
It is one of the most popular anime shows in Japan, and with good reason. Goku is a Saiyan warrior who has excellent strength and battle skills. His goal is to collect the 7 Dragon Balls to wish for eternal life. Throughout his journeys, he makes friends and becomes more potent due to it. Although the animation isn’t always great (it’s pretty low quality compared to modern anime), Dragon Ball Z has provided an endless supply of entertainment over the years. The battles are intense, and it never gets boring watching Goku try to save the world from evil! Plus, there’s no way you can watch this show without wanting to scream, ‘It’s over 9000!’
Seinen – Berserk:
It is a dark fantasy anime that follows Guts’ protagonist and joins the Band of the Hawkmercenaries. It’s full of bloody battles and lots of death, but it also has some good character development (and even more backstory to be found in the manga). Who has a tragic past that is filled with loss and betrayal? He is a demon warrior who possesses human qualities because his father was a demon, but his mother was a human. Guts wander the land to seek revenge and fight to protect those around him. Berserk is a bloody story with an intensity that will leave you on the edge of your seat!
